Privacy Policy
Tektari Inc. · last updated 2026-07-03
This policy explains what personal information Tektari Inc. ("Tektari," "we," "us") collects through our marketing website (tektari.com) and email list, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose.
We are an applied-AI practice — independent verification and enablement for the people who design, build, and operate physical assets. This policy covers our public website and email communications — not enrolled-course platforms, which are governed separately where applicable.
Who we are
Tektari Inc. is a Canadian corporation.
- Mailing address: available on request via hello@tektari.com
- Contact for privacy questions: hello@tektari.com
- Governing law: Province of Ontario, Canada (to be confirmed with counsel)
What we collect and why
We try to collect as little as possible. Here is the full list.
| What | When | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address (and optionally a first name) | When you subscribe to our list or contact us | To send you the emails you asked for and to reply to you | Consent (you opted in) |
| Email engagement (opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes) | When you receive our emails | To measure whether our emails are useful and to keep our list clean | Legitimate interests |
| Basic, privacy-friendly analytics (page views, referrer, approximate region, device/browser type) | When you visit the website | To understand what content is read and to improve the site | Legitimate interests |
| Scoreboard responses (your answers, and the firmographic ranges you choose) | When you take the Industrial AI Scoreboard | To score your assessment, send your report, and publish anonymized aggregates — under the rules in the published methodology | Consent (you opted in) |
| Anything you choose to tell us | When you email us | To answer your question | Consent / legitimate interests |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Email and consent (CASL)
We only email you if you have asked us to — that's express consent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). When you subscribe, we record that you opted in, when, and how.
Every email we send includes:
- A clear identification of who is sending it (Tektari Inc.) and how to reach us.
- A working unsubscribe link that takes effect promptly.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing hello@tektari.com. Once you unsubscribe, we stop sending marketing emails. We may keep a minimal record of your unsubscribe (for example, your email on a suppression list) so we don't accidentally email you again.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible Analytics) configured to avoid invasive tracking. Specifically, we aim to:
- Avoid tracking you across other websites.
- Avoid storing data that identifies you personally where we can.
- Use aggregated and approximate data (e.g. region rather than precise location).
We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking on the site.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum.
- Essential cookies may be used to make the site work (for example, remembering a preference). These don't require consent.
- Our analytics is chosen to minimize or avoid non-essential cookies. If we ever introduce cookies that require consent under applicable law, we'll ask for it through a cookie banner first.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may then behave differently.
How long we keep your information
- Email list data: for as long as you remain subscribed, and then we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period after you unsubscribe — except a minimal suppression record kept to honour your opt-out.
- Emails you send us: for as long as needed to handle your request and a reasonable period afterward for our records.
- Analytics data: retained in aggregate for trend analysis; raw event data is kept only as long as our analytics provider retains it under our configuration.
When we no longer need personal information, we delete or anonymize it.
Who we share it with (processors)
We don't sell or rent your data. We do use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") who handle data on our behalf, under contract, and only on our instructions:
- Website host / infrastructure — Netlify — serves the website, captures form submissions, and may process server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability.
- Forms and responses — Tally (Scoreboard intake) and Airtable (response storage) — capture and store the Scoreboard answers you submit.
- Analytics provider — Plausible Analytics — measures website usage.
- Email platform — none is in use yet; before any bulk email sending starts, the platform we choose will be named here.
Some of these providers may be located outside Canada (see below).
International transfers
Some of our processors may store or process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we rely on the provider's safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections) so your information stays protected. (Specific transfer mechanisms to be confirmed with counsel based on chosen providers.)
Your rights
If you're in Canada (PIPEDA): You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent (for example, by unsubscribing). We'll respond within the timeframes required by law.
If you're in the EU/UK/EEA (GDPR/UK GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object and we'll reconsider.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@tektari.com. We may need to verify your identity first. Exercising your rights is free, and we won't penalize you for it.
If you're in the EU/UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In Canada, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Our website and emails are intended for professionals and other adults. They are not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email hello@tektari.com and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes affecting how we use your information, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
