This policy explains what personal information Tektari Inc. (“Tektari,” “we,” “us”) collects through our marketing website (tektari.com) and email list, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose.
We are an applied-AI academy for people who design, build, and operate physical assets. This policy covers our public website and email communications — not enrolled-course platforms, which are governed separately where applicable.
Tektari Inc. is a Canadian corporation.
We try to collect as little as possible. Here is the full list.
| What | When | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address (and optionally a first name) | When you subscribe to our list or contact us | To send you the emails you asked for and to reply to you | Consent (you opted in) |
| Email engagement (opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes) | When you receive our emails | To measure whether our emails are useful and to keep our list clean | Legitimate interests |
| Basic, privacy-friendly analytics (page views, referrer, approximate region, device/browser type) | When you visit the website | To understand what content is read and to improve the site | Legitimate interests |
| Anything you choose to tell us | When you email us | To answer your question | Consent / legitimate interests |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
We only email you if you have asked us to — that’s express consent under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). When you subscribe, we record that you opted in, when, and how.
Every email we send includes:
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing hello@tektari.com. Once you unsubscribe, we stop sending marketing emails. We may keep a minimal record of your unsubscribe (for example, your email on a suppression list) so we don’t accidentally email you again.
We use privacy-friendly analytics ([analytics provider]) that is configured to avoid invasive tracking. Specifically, we aim to:
We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking on the site.
We keep cookies to a minimum.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may then behave differently.
When we no longer need personal information, we delete or anonymize it.
We don’t sell or rent your data. We do use a small number of trusted service providers (“processors”) who handle data on our behalf, under contract, and only on our instructions:
Some of these providers may be located outside Canada (see below).
Some of our processors may store or process data outside your country, including in [country/region — e.g. the United States or the EU]. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we rely on the provider’s safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections) so your information stays protected. [Confirm specific transfer mechanisms with counsel based on chosen providers.]
If you’re in Canada (PIPEDA): You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent (for example, by unsubscribing). We’ll respond within the timeframes required by law.
If you’re in the EU/UK/EEA (GDPR/UK GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object and we’ll reconsider.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@tektari.com. We may need to verify your identity first. Exercising your rights is free, and we won’t penalize you for it.
If you’re in the EU/UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In Canada, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Our website and emails are intended for professionals and other adults. They are not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under [16]. If you believe a child has given us their information, email hello@tektari.com and we’ll delete it.
If we change this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. For significant changes affecting how we use your information, we’ll take reasonable steps to let you know.
